In order to foster its key industries including automobiles, petrochemicals, and shipbuilding industries, Ulsan is growing as an ICT-based high-tech industrial city and developing higher value added future businesses.
It has established the world’s first mass production system of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, encouraged the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and constructed the automobile parts R&D infrastructure based on 3D printing, in order to quickly follow global industrial trends.
As a result of a city assessment on 200 major cities of the world conducted by the Brookings Institute, known as one of the world’s best think tanks, Ulsan has ranked 30th in the fastest growing cities. Ulsan is the only Korean city selected by the Brookings Institute.
