Ulsan Art Museum is glad to present the special exhibition The Creation of the 21st Century, Sistine Chapel commemorating the 90th anniversary of Nam June Paik's birth to share the greatness of our masterpiece collection, Sistine Chapel.

Sistine Chapel is highly valuable from an art-historical perspective and made a huge contribution to Paik to receive a Golden Lion when he represented the German Pavillion at the 1993 Venice Biennale. This exhibition will be a historically significant moment to encounter the work for the first time in Korea, after its restoration.

While Sistine Chapel in the 16th century portrayed the vision of religion through paints, Sistine Chapel by Nam June Paik fulfills the space with today's media through over 30 projectors. This work clearly demonstrates Paik's foresight on VR(Virtual Reality) and Metaverse, indeed, the artist's pioneering aesthetics arouse admiration.
