UFEZ authority signed an MOU with public institutions at the 3D Printing Venture Accumulation Knowledge Industry Center on April 14. The event consisted of two sessions – an MOU signing ceremony and a corporate seminar. At the beginning of the event, an MOU was signed by UFEZ authority, KOTRA, KIER, KOTEC, KOSME, and Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Ulsan as a part of ‘UFEZ Small-medium-large companies Win-win Open Platform’. Large companies in Ulsan disclose their in-demand technologies → Hold a public competition for domestic and foreign companies which develop related technologies → Large companies and public institutions evaluate the applications → Select final candidate companies → Provide support and attract investment The participated institutions will cooperate to discover, attract, and support promising domestic and foreign companies to enhance the strategic businesses of UFEZ such as hydrogen·low carbon energy, future mobility etc., and Regulation Free Special Zone of UFEZ. ‘KOTRA’ will discover promising foreign companies, ‘KIER’ will evaluate technologies for the final candidate and provide technical support based o the R&D infrastructure, ‘KOTEC’ will support technology evaluation and technical guarantee for the selection, ‘KOSME’ will support evaluation and policy funds for the selection, and ‘Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Ulsan’ will discover and support promising domestic companies. ‘UFEZ’ authority will activate the networks among the relative institutions and provide selected companies with the support such as subsidizing commercialization funds. ①Subsidize commercialization funds ②Support for companies to move into UFEZ ③Provide selected companies with cooperation opportunities with large companies ④Support for participation in briefing sessions·exhibitions ⑤Provide technology consultation from experts In the second session, corporate supporting projects from each public institution were presented targeting local companies in Ulsan. Detailed information on the projects supporting foreign investment attraction, a solution to bottleneck techniques in the field of energy, technical guarantee supports, policy loan, etc. could be obtained from the session. In addition, a lecture about The Serious Accidents Punishment Act (SAPA) was provided which is one of the significant areas of interest for the participated companies. Cho Young-shin, the commissioner of UFEZ authority, said, “The MOU will bring a new opportunity to discover plenty of promising domestic and foreign companies with new technologies in strategic business sectors of UFEZ. We will try to prepare highly effective support measures for the consistent growth of the tenant companies within UFEZ.” |
