Inviting filmmakers all around the world to Ulsan

We are used to the red carpet ceremony where lots of film awards and events welcome the guests who greet and are photographed on it. The red carpet has originated from the Greek play Agamemnon where the King of Argos was welcomed with the red carpet, representing the path of God, on his way returning from the triumph of the Trojan War. Nowadays, it has been used as a magnificent welcome and devoted hospitality at formal events. The red carpet is unfolded to some ending point on the ocean spreading out to the world. The chair which is put on that ending point refers to inviting the directors and filmmakers from all around the world and welcoming them. . I have intended to express the dynamic and marvellous impression through the radical composition and have emphasised the powerful contrast of each colour by minimising expressions. With this poster, I would like to introduce the beginning of the Ulsan International Film Festival to all filmmakers in the world with a strong impression.
