Ulsan Metropolitan announced that the UFEZ proposal was selected as one of 「Innovation Ecosystem generation projects in FEZ」, a public offering by MOTIE
Categorized into two sections, one for establishing the foundation of innovation cluster and the other for reinforcing company business competitiveness, ‘Innovation Ecosystem Generation Project in FEZ’ aims to systematize, advance, and nurture the innovation growth ecosystem to become the global new industry hub focusing on the core strategic industries of FEZ. This public offering is a follow-up measure of ‘FEZ 2.0, the strategy and vision to 2030’, published in October last year from MOTIE. As a project for reinforcing company business competitiveness this year, UFEZ plans not only to equip the infrastructure within the districts but also to support the growth of tenant companies. From March to December this year, the total fund is 333 million KRW(233M from the central government, 90M from Ulsan Metropolitan, 10M from the private sector). The major contents of this project are infrastructure support service, commercialization service, business support service, and operational support. Acquiring the needs from the tenants by a survey of demand, infrastructure support service provides equipment, software, and facilities. Commercialization service includes domestic/foreign experts consulting service and pilot product manufacturing. Business support service brings technical and overall backing to the companies. And through organizing networking opportunities and seminars, support for business operations will be given. Jo Young-shin, the commissioner of UFEZ, informed that “for the innovation growth of UFEZ this year, we will establish a cooperation system among academy, industry, and research institutes to set up a solid industrial ecosystem.” |
