늦깎이 대학생으로 영화를 전공했으나, 졸업 후 영화와의 연이 이어지지 않아 다시 현실 세계로 돌아가게 되었다. 영영 영화를 못 할 줄 알았는데, 어느 날 문득 마지막으로 하고 싶은 게 무엇인지 물어보게 되었고, 하던 것을 하다가 죽자는 생각에 다시 학교로 돌아가 영화를 만들고 있다. <열대소년>은 10년 만에 만든 영화이다.

Lee Ji-hyeong entered college in his later years and studied film. But after graduation, he lost connection with film and went back to the real world. He never imagined filming again, but when he asked himself 'what is the last thing I want to do,' Ji-hyeong decided to live and die doing what he pursued and returned to the film school.
