Starting with 2020 Pre-Festival held at December 2020, UIFF is introducing international and domestic films with YOUNG PERSPECTIVES.
UIFF has been carrying out the Korea's largest production grant for film students and is holding its 1st international film festival in the city of Ulsan, starting on December 17th to 21st, 2021.
The main program of the 1st Ulsan International Film Festival is the "UIFF Premiere", which will introduce 15 domestic/international feature films with young and fresh perspectives. The section will be non-competitive, and it will also screen 35 short films that has been selected and funded by 2021 Ulsan production grant. The short films will be world premiers.
UIFF is embracing the new and ever-changing film producing and screening environments in the post-pandemic era and is aiming for a new festival that meets the needs of the time.
Through the young perspectives in films, our goal is to explore the evolving film aesthetics and to seek various, timeless subjects of humanity. We encourage the strength of fundamentals and the growth of film industry through solidarity between the creators and and audiences beyond the borders.
Ulsan is one the largest industrial cities in the world. It is founded on one of the biggest automobile and shipbuilding industries and now dreams of becoming an international cultural center through its international film festival.
The city of Ulsan and UIFF will keep supporting the young perspectives of film makers and is more than happy to announce the 1st launch of the festival for both film loving audiences and Ulsan citizens.
