Ulsan to operate pet-friendly Ulsan tourist taxi

From October to mid-December; pet registration and carrying a kennel is mandatory

Passenger reservations to begin on Sep. 1

Ulsan Metropolitan City and the Ulsan Culture & Tourism Foundation announced that they will operate the “Pet-Friendly Ulsan Tourist Taxi” from October to mid-December.

In this regard, a briefing session for the Ulsan Tourist Taxi drivers will be held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center (UECO) on August 31 at 10 AM.

The briefing will be attended by about 10 Ulsan Tourist Taxi drivers, explaining about precautions for traveling with pets, cleaning the vehicle after boarding, subsidies and support items for traveling with pets, and collecting feedback from the drivers.

Passengers are domestic and foreign tourists, excluding Ulsan residents. They must travel with their registered pets in a kennel.

“The operation of pet-friendly tourist taxis will be a great opportunity for travelers to travel to Ulsan more easily and conveniently by reducing the burden of traveling,” said a city official. “We will strive to become a pet-friendly tourist attraction by cooperating with major tourist spots.”

Meanwhile, the city and the Ulsan Culture & Tourism Foundation are preparing to welcome travelers with pets in earnest starting in October, as the city was selected as a “Pet Friendly Tourism City” in April this year.

Major initiatives include yachting with pets, pet-friendly trekking courses, and pottery making with pets.
